Trinity Primary School

Year 3

Welcome to our Year Three class page

Year Three is a fun and busy place to be, where children love to learn new and exciting things. Here is a whistle stop tour of the fun and interesting topics that we cover over the school year. In history we travel right back to the Stone Age, moving through different periods of time from the Bronze Age all the way to the Vikings.

We also work very hard during our maths and English lessons too, becoming confident in our 3, 4- and 8-times tables, as well as reading a number of exciting novels including The BFG by Roald Dahl and Escape from Pompeii by Christina Balit. Science in Year Three is an exciting subject too. From learning about our skeleton, animals and their habitats to even looking at the different planets in space and our solar system. 5,4,3,2,1…. blast off!  We cover a variety of topics and love to complete a practical science experiment or two as well! We are also very lucky in Year Three to be able to take part in weekly swimming lessons too. This is always a favourite part of our week.

Year Three is a busy place where we get lots of opportunities to let our lights shine each day and we have lots of fun! Speaking of fun….. being in Year Three means that we get to take part in our junior nativity and our famous summer productions. Year Three is the beginning of our journey through KS2 and so our teachers make sure that we are well supported in making the jump from being an infant to a junior and ensuring that we are well equipped to continue on in our exciting educational journey through Trinity School.  Each day they help us to become the best versions of ourselves that we can be, using our Christian values and school rules to help us to make the right choices and supporting us in becoming wonderful members of our school and wider community where we can let our lights shine brightly!
